So I get an email from this website called parenting connect or something like that I forgot anyways it's suppose to be a parent support website you know like tips on how to do stuff for and with you kids like potty training, talking, etc and of course you can talk to other parents and make friends, but I only use it for the tips. Well I was reading these tips on how to potty train a boy when I came across this poll question that asked:
Are you inspired by the Obamas' parenting style?
First Lady Michelle Obama has been getting a lot of attention for her firm-but-loving parenting style. She insists that her girls will continue to make their own beds and clean their rooms at the White House.
Of course I answered yes because I am she is a VIRTUOUS WOMAN, the type of woman I would like to be and aspire to be. Well anyways at the end of the post a fellow member posted this comment:
I can't say that I admire the Obama's as parents at all because of their support of abortion. How can anyone who supports killing children and using our tax dollars to do so be a good parent? Good parenting starts at conception, not at birth.
I think that she was very one sided to say that because rather she supports abortion or not that does not make her a good or bad parent. It's rather or not she teaches her children the social norms that those before us have created and follow. Abortion is a option that is touchy for everyone all over the world although she supports it, she's not standing up and saying I don't think we should have kids we should kill them all, if that was case she wouldn't have two of her own. She is simply saying that she supports options for those mothers who maybe got raped (by a stranger, violent husband, friend) and got pregnant, or even those young mothers that everyone complains about that's on welfare because they are paying for it but talk about them because they are young mothers. Abortion gives options, options that people are allowed to have here in America, to say that you don't support her opinion is fine but I doesn't make her a bad parent look at her daughters do they look the product of a bad parent. I think not. :)
To sum it up I just wanted to share this with whoever reads it. It's so said that people view one another one way and than expect to viewed the same way. What if I told that fellow member that she a bad parent because she has 3 children and she can't afford to buy them the finer things in life. Am I right? No she is just a mother who loves children and wanted as many she wanted or maybe she didn't have the option to have an abortion. What the case maybe it's not right to say that she is a bad parent. There is no handbook on parenting we all learn as we go some more than others and with that god grants us mistakes and allows us to redeem ourselves rather your for abortion or not.
We are all caught up about what a person believes in especially those in government positions. Maybe we have forgotten that the laws and decisions of this land are in our hands not the politicians. So in reference to first lady being for-or-against abortion it does not matter because we as people are the government and should decide how our political officers vote. The job of any government official is to speak for the people. If you take matters in your own hands and do things your way without the support of the people. You will find yourself having a very short political career. In a nutshell, suppose the Obama’s didn’t or don’t believe in Santa Clause we need not worry about Christmas being removed from the calendar unless it a majority decision.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what the politics are anymore. They are suppose to be about the people but for 4 years we had a president who did what his father wanted him to do. If the President Obama decided to get rid of Christmas I think it would cause a serious issue because they are suppose to be Christians, so that would cause a serious "?" mark. I think after this year however the majority decision will matter. As long as everyone sticks together and works as a team like we did for this election. And not allow anyone who just talks a good game "hints" president bush into the white house.
